It has been too long!

Hello Everyone!

I apologize for the sabbatical I took from updating my blog. It’s been quite intense, but I return with great news and fervor!

In these two weeks, I was able to approve and confirm the final round of author revisions on the interior and the cover of my book 🙂

We are now currently in the post production phase! The book will  now be sent for activation to the printers.

The good thing: I can now fully focus on marketing, and actually updating my blog on a frequent basis and get to know you all, who have been earnestly supporting me.

Here we go!!!
Here we go!!!

The sad thing: It will take a few more weeks for my book to actually hit the bookstores.

So close , but still, yet, so far.
So close , but still, yet, so far.

But never fear, there is still a lot left to do. I’m excited to begin torturing the bookstores with my phone calls, setting up press releases, youtube trailers etc. I can’t wait to frolic in the success of my book. Walt Disney even gave license to release a story about it as seen below 😛

Progress (we’re almost there!)

So…this week has been quite eventful.

I spent the weekend literally poring over the interior of the book. Going through each and every chapter, I gotta say, there were some tears shed. I am surprised to how much things have changed from since then to now.

Being limited to 50 free corrections for the interior is quite tough. So far, I’ve written down the changes, though I’ve not kept count! 😛 The cover will be a lot easier to work with as I get complete freedom to do as many changes as I would like.

Put this in between all the other things I’m dealing with in my life: work, moving out to a new place, having fun, and just enjoying every day, while anticipating some exciting things for the near future (engaging with my family, reuniting with someone special 🙂 , taking a break from work, planning for higher studies!!! ) etc. I should be done the changes by this weekend, and submit it next week 🙂

Apparently, it will take a week or two (depending on the volume of changes, though mine aren’t extensive) for the book to be in print and be set in the iUniverse catalog. But my submission will coincide with my full entry into the marketing process. Can’t wait to start, god its going to be fun: calling bookstores, bugging as many people as possible to read my book, getting in touch with the libraries, press-releases, and maybe some book signings to set up! (who knows!!)

My mind is on a whirl right now! Like this guy below!

Perfecto!! :) Can\t wait to begin!
Perfecto!! 🙂 Can’t wait to begin!

It’s a brand new adventure!!

WELCOME TO EVERYONE!

I will predominantly be using this blog to update my progress on my book’s publication.

A large thanks to all those who have followed my Facebook Group so far! Enjoy commenting on the blog!

For all those just visiting in as newcomers, my heartiest Welcome to all of you!

Your support is all the more important, as it is through your word, and communication that I can let the world know about my story so in that sense:

From there to here…

It has been an arduous few months…

I’ve just set up this blog, and so for those who are new, here is a montage of my updates from the Facebook group!

These brief and selective updates follow my progress towards publishing my book in the past few months, so please bear with me! I’m self-publishing this book, and have done so through the Self-Publishing Company, iUniverse!

July 1, 2013

“Hey everyone, Sorry for the short break. It has been one heck of a week. Falling sick, then getting back on my feet, and then enjoying the weekend with my friends on my birthday! Life is going good!

So now, for some updates for all those who have been peeking in on the group posts! July is going to be hot! Both literally in terms of Edmonton weather, and also in terms of all the new things that I have to do.

I have set up a free blog using Blogspot, along with WordPress, GoodReads, Protagonize. I might also set up a Twitter Account very soon. July will be the month of direct marketing, I have quite the list of bookstores to call! Starting from the mainstream chains to the independent ones! Both in the US and Canada! Once am comfortably ready to open up the blogs and other pages, I will post the links! I would be grateful for all the support, if you could just spread word, so that people can tune in!

Also got this email from the iUniverse Publishing department! Looks like once this final hurdle is over, we will be completely focused on production. I can’t wait to get the first printed copy (dibs for Beatrice Manuel).

2-3 weeks is our current schedule (Email was originally sent on June 25, 2013), so we are a week into the process! Should receive the package mid July, get it fixed for any final corrections, and then ultimately get it ready for print!!!!”

“And so after about two years of work into publishing my book, I finally received the copies of the text, and cover design, of my book today. All that is left to do now, is affirm the necessary corrections, call for one last run of changes that I would like, and I will be giving you my friends, a glimpse of what you can all expect in Our Last Summer!! :)”
